Section-Wise Analysis of SNAP 2005
Logical Reasoning
- Largely questions were based on puzzles like coding decoding, family
tree, venn diagrams
- Some questions were based on quant as well
- One set on input output flowchart (5 questions) was very easy and was
based on arranging numbers in ascending order
- Possible to attempt around 15 questions in 25 minutes
Quantitative Ability
- Largely questions were based on arithmetic topics like ratio
proportion, mixtures, percentage, profit loss, and speed
- Very few questions on topics like algebra, geometry, permutation
combination, probability
- Possible to attempt around 25 questions in about 35 minutes
Data Interpretation
- The data interpretation sets were deceptive – seemed difficult in
terms of data representation, but most of the questions could be solved by
observation. This was also aided by the huge difference in the two answer
choices
- There were 3 sets of data interpretation: one combination set was
followed by only 2 questions, another combination set was followed by 5
questions, while the third set was a table followed by 5 questions.
- The remaining 8 questions were on data sufficiency, 4 containing 3
data statements and remaining 4 with regular 2 data statements. The 3 data
statement DS had errors, with atleast 2 of them not yielding any answer
- Possible to attempt around 12 questions in 25 minutes
|
Verbal Ability
- A good distribution of questions across reading comprehension,
vocabulary and usage
- Both the RC passages were very short and contributed to 8 questions
- Vocabulary based questions were asked in the form of synonyms,
antonyms, analogy, sentence completion and spellings
- Usage based questions were largely based on the correct sentence
formation and error spotting. These were very unique in the sense that
some pertained to finding even the nature of error. Others included
putting the correct punctuation, substituting the correct articles etc.
- 30 questions could easily have been attempted in this section in 25
minutes
General Awareness
- Largely questions were asked on static GK and a few on current GK
- Static GK questions ranged from science, geography, literature
- Current GK were largely from international scenario
- Possible to attempt around 18-20 questions in 10 minutes
