Section-Wise Analysis of FMS 2006
English Usage
  • This was largely vocabulary based with 8 Qs on synonyms, antonyms, 4 Qs on spellings, 10 Qs on analogy and 5 Qs on sentence completion
  • All of these were easy and could have been attempted in no time
  • A net score of 60+ was easily possible in this section

Reading Comprehension
  • There were 5 passages of moderate difficulty level, worth 48 questions in all
  • It was possible to attempt around 4 passages and score around 100 marks in this section
Analytical Reasoning
  • This section largely had caselets and a few puzzles
  • There were 8 sets of Logical Data Interpretation, with 40 Qs in all. At least 5 of these were very easy.
  • The remaining 8 questions were of the nature of puzzles that included direction based questions, venn diagram based questions, comparisons and a 3 syllogisms questions
  • Overall, an easy section and possible to score more than 110 marks in this section

Quantitative Aptitude
  • Although the section was easy, there was a good mix of questions from all the areas.
  • These included around 15 questions on Arithmetic, 12 on Geometry and10 on Algebra
  • Achieving a score of above 110 should not have been difficult in this section
